Workflow steps:

1. Before arrival

If you want, feel free to:
  • Browse this manual.
  • Come visit us for a coffee or join our team meeting.
  • Have a look at our papers or our projects on GitHub.
  • For employees:
    • After all documents have been submitted to HR, you will be contacted by a person from HR about signing your contract.
    • Let Peter know once your contract has been signed and agree your exact start date.
    • Follow the TUB IT provisioning instructions as soon as possible.
    • Inform Peter once your TUB IT account (<name>@tu-berlin.de) is available. This may be after your contract start date.
    • You may proceed with the next steps only after your contract start date.
  • For students:
    • Discuss your thesis project and especially start date with Peter.
    • Inform Peter about your TUB IT account (<name>@campus.tu-berlin.de) as soon as possible.
    • You may proceed with the next steps only after your registration form has been sent to the Prรผfungsamt.
  • For trainees:
    • Discuss and agree your start date with Peter.
    • Inform Peter once your external TUB IT account (<name>@campus.tu-berlin.de) is working.
    • You may proceed with the next steps only after your placement start date.
You cannot start working before your start date.

You are not allowed to:

  • enter the labs before your agreed start date, with the exception of the lab tour;
  • do any paid work for the Lab or Chair before your contract start date;

You are only cleared to work in the labs only after Delf signs off on your safety training.

2. ๐Ÿ›น Onboarding Issue

  • Make sure you can access our Onboarding on gitlab
    • You should be using your TUB IT account to access this page.
  • Make a new issue using this link:
    • ConCat Onboarding: Create New Issue
    • Please open the issue as soon as possible.
  • Make changes to the onboarding issue as you complete tasks.
  • After youโ€™re finished, assign the issue to Peter.
Do not close the issue. We will use it for your offboarding.

3. ๐Ÿช‘ FGKW Onboarding

  • Download your FGKW Onboarding Form and follow the steps.
  • Introduce yourself:
    • Personally at the first FGKW Team meeting.
    • By email to keramik-maba3@lists.tu-berlin.de and keramik-stuba3@lists.tu-berlin.de in both German and English.
      • Tell us who you are, what youโ€™re working on, who youโ€™re working with.
      • Tell us when your planned start and end dates are.
      • Attach a photo.
  • Arrange your safety training with Delf:
    • Get Delf to sign your FGKW Onboarding Form once complete
  • Fill in the registration forms (for Team and for Secretary) as instructed on the FGKW Onboarding Form
  • Fill in the compliance form as instructed on the FGKW Onboarding Form
  • Return a copy of the FGKW Onboarding Form to Peter for archiving.
  • Make changes to the above onboarding issue as you complete the tasks.
Your onboarding is only complete once the onboarding issue is marked as Approved by Peter.
